New Berlin Eisenhower Academic Decathlon team wins national title | News

NEW BERLIN — The academic decathlon team at New Berlin Eisenhower High School now has a national championship.
After earning the Division II state championship in March, the team competed in the online national championship competition as a medium school. The team scored 34,789 points to win the National Championship. The team beats its next closest competitor by more than 7,000 points.
The Academic Decathlon® is a ten-event team competition wherein students match their intellects with students from other schools. Students are tested in ten categories: Art, Economics, Essay, Interview, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Music, Science, Social Science and Speech. Each high school enters a team of nine students: 3 “A” or Honor students, 3 “B” or Scholastic students, and 3 “C” or Varsity students.
The students on the academic decathlon team will be recognized in a school assembly after their received their national team and individual awards.
